
Padstow
Bay is open to the W and NW winds and is not recommended as
an anchorage if a significant ground swell is running. Anchorage
can be obtained in Port Quin Bay (50degrees 36'N 4degrees
54'W) where the holding ground is good and shelter from Wly
winds is obtainable in the West side of the bay inside the
Mouls.

The
Commissioners operate the Black Tor Ferry, this is a pedestrian
ferry operating between Padstow and Rock. The first ferry
to Rock is 0800hrs and the last is 1950hrs at the height
of the summer and 1650 during winter months. The ferry service
is continuous on demand. An evening water taxi runs outside
ferry running times.

The Harbour Office is manned from 0800hrs to 1700hrs Monday
to Friday
and 2 hours either side of high water seven days a week.

Besides the Port Arthur moorings. inner quay running moorings
and North Quay running moorings the Padstow Harbour Commissioners
have approximately 180 seasonal and holiday moorings at
Rock. The Commisioners also control the Dinghy Park at Rock.

Limited chandlery but most items can be obtained within
three days.

The harbour has its own grab/hopper dredger "Mannin",
this can be hired by contacting the Harbour Master.
